Led by sisters Emma Jane (15) and Marina (14), the Pendleton Family Fiddlers
thrill audiences in venues around Oklahoma and beyond. The girls perform
old-time fiddle tunes, bluegrass, western, cowgirl, and swing numbers on
fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and vocals. Their dad, Scott, backs them on
guitar, and their mom, Virginia, joins in on backup fiddle and mandolin.
PERFORMED FOR GARTH BROOKS AT A GALA IN HIS HONOR
In November, 2007, The Pendleton Family Fiddlers entertained in the VIP
Reception Suite of the Crowne Plaza Hotel at a Gala honoring Garth Brooks.
Emma Jane and Marina, with Scott on guitar, also took the stage and fiddled
the Orange Blossom Special for an audience of 700, including celebrities
Garth, Roy Clark, Ty England, and others. (See Photo Gallery)
IN CONCERT WITH LYLE LOVETT
Lyle Lovett invited the girls to perform with him and his band at the Brady
Theatre when Lyle's tour with KD Lang came to Tulsa on August 8, 2007. (See

GUEST-STAR ON A CHILDREN'S TV SHOW
The Pendleton Family Fiddlers currently guest-star on a children's TV show,
"Quick Draw Derick", aired on Cox Cable Channel 20. (See Photo Gallery)
CBS TELEVISION NATIONAL TALENT CONTEST
In February, 2007, CBS Television producers in New York chose the girls'
video of their performance of the "Cotton Patch Rag" as among the best
videos submitted in a CBS TV national talent contest. The girls' video was
aired on the national CBS "The Early Show" and was voted into the top eight
in the national semi-finals by three million viewers. To view their video on

The girls also appeared live on KVOO 98.5 FM Radio with Andy O and Jean; on
the "Up Late With Ben Sumner" TV talk show; and on the KOTV "Six in the
Morning" with LeAnne Taylor and Casey Norton.
FIDDLE CONTESTS and MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Emma Jane is the reigning Oklahoma State Junior Fiddle Champion. Emma Jane
and Marina regularly compete in and win top prizes in local, state, and
national fiddle and mandolin contests. The girls have been recipients of
music scholarships from the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival 2005 -
2007.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Every other week, the Pendleton Family Fiddlers host the 2008 Tulsa Fiddle
Circle, in which violin players interested in fiddling can learn new fiddle
tunes and jam together in a fun group setting. On alternate weeks, the they
host the 2008 Tulsa Guitar Circle, where guitar players learn and share
their talents on the art of fiddle backup.
In December, 2007, the girls were invited to record a track on the fourth
annual "Holiday Harvest" CD, benefiting the Eastern Food Bank of Oklahoma.
Emma Jane and Marina played in benefit concerts for Hurricane Katrina
victims and the U.S. military soldiers in Iraq.
In 2005, the girls were chosen by audition to record on a CD entitled,
"Tulsa's Best and Brightest Musical Talent", with proceeds benefiting Tulsa
Public Schools.
HISTORY
The girls began their musical careers at age two, learning the rudiments of
playing the violin from their mother, and later taking classical music
lessons from professional Suzuki violin teacher, Karen Naifeh Harmon. They
continue studying classical violin and performing in that musical genre as
well. They are mentored in fiddling by Jana Jae, the first female member of
Buck Owens' band, and part of the regular team of performers on the "Hee
Haw" TV show.
